Dr. Frank Sommers is the founder of Disaster Psychiatry Canada, and is a member of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is a military Veteran and has also deployed as a civilian psychiatrist to the NATO contingent in Afghanistan. Dr. Sommers is a Distinguished Fellow of the Canadian and American Psychiatric Associations and is a Life Member of the Ontario Psychiatric Association. He also received the Ontario Medical Association Life Member Award and the Presidential Award.
